Summary Manage plant production operations directly or through other supervision. Responsible for the following activities: production operations, maintenance, material handling, shipping, receiving, inventory control, personnel administration, safety and facility security. Plan and schedule production, material requirements, and manpower. Monitor overall plant for efficiency, scrap levels, product quality, and also responsible for achieving company goals in these areas. Job Responsibilities & Requirements ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Build and lead a large high-performing team, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment. Provide guidance, mentorship, and support for team members to maximize their potential. Manage and coordinate the production and distribution of customer orders in accordance with manufacturing policies, principles, procedures, and customer orders. Regularly review the efficiency of manufacturing operations to forecast and prepare manufacturing capabilities to meet customer demands. Manage plant maintenance and tool and die to ensure manufacturing equipment is operating safely and at a maximum level of efficiency. Develop plans for efficient use of materials, machines, and associates. Review production costs and product quality, modify production and inventory control programs to maintain and enhance profitability. Direct and coordinate activities concerned with the set-up, installation, and repair of machines and equipment. Review and approve all plant related purchases. Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of all production activities. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training associates; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining associates; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Full involvement with all safety programs and proactively seek opportunities for improved safety. Perform other duties as assigned. SKILLS & ABILITIES: Education and/or Experience Bachelor’s Degree in a technical science with a minimum of 5-8 years of management in a related high volume manufacturing experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience with powered press manufacturing and maintenance strongly preferred. Proven ability to drive cultural change and engagement with a frontline team. Communicate the organization's vision, mission, and goals to internal and external stakeholders. Foster transparent and open communication channels within the team and across departments. Develop and implement effective strategies to achieve organizational objectives. Collaborate with key stakeholders to align strategic goals with overall company vision. Lead and manage organizational change initiatives effectively. Implement strategies to ensure smooth transitions and minimize resistance to change. Language Skills: Effectively communicate with co-workers and management regarding work and safety issues. Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedures manuals, etc. Write routine reports and correspondence. Speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization. Developed strong communication, problem solving, and human relation skills.
