What are the responsibilities and job description for the Project Accountant position at Mithun?
We are seeking a Project Accountant to join Mithun. In this newly established role, you will have the opportunity to assist in the financial management and health of multiple projects and serve as a liaison between the Project Design Teams and Accounting team. We currently collaborate in the office Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Mondays and Fridays are flexible workdays that allow employees to work in the office or from home.

Requirements
- Build strong relationships with and serve as a trusted advisor to our internal team including Partners-in-Charge, Project Managers and Project Assistants.
- Partner with the Project Manager and project team to establish the project budget and monthly revenue projections.
- Provide monthly performance to budget reporting on active projects.
- Partner with Accounts Payable to confirm vendor payments align with client’s contractual agreements.
- Assist with Staffing projections to efficiently staff projects to meet profitability targets.
- Identify when budget changes arise and make recommendations for contract modifications as needed.
- Review contracts and understand the contract terms regarding project type, scope of work and invoicing terms.
- Create and update dashboards to provide visibility to project performance.
- Help create new tools to aid project teams in providing highest quality service and design quality, coupled with efficient use of financial resources.
Qualifications
- 5 Years as a Project Accountant or similar role.
- Bachelor’s degree in business or a closely related field.
- Strong customer first attitude.
- Experience in architecture, construction, or design industry desired.
- Strong Excel skills, including ability to learn and adapt to financial data systems.
- Experience in Deltek Vantagepoint a plus.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

The expected range of compensation for this role is $75,000 - $95,000 per year. Pay ranges differ by location.
