Director of Finance and Administration

At M.J. Design Associates we have experienced tremendous growth in the past few years and are now excited to have this addition to our leadership team to support our long-term business strategies. Our new Director of Finance and Administration will serve as a key member of our leadership team!

At M.J. Design Associates, Inc. we strive to be positive stewards of the environment by creating wonderful outdoor living spaces that our clients will enjoy, by utilizing proper plant selections and planting techniques. We strive to give our clients our full attention and focus on all details of their landscape maintenance needs. Our compensation includes a base salary of $105,000 - $115,000 with health, vision, PTO and a Simple IRA.

Requirements for our Director of Finance & Administration:

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration required, master’s degree preferred
• 5 years experience in small business COO, VP of Administration or Controller role with strong financial and accounting knowledge;
• 3 years experience developing processes, systems and business administration best practices for a $5 -$7 million organization
• Strong understanding of systems and processes;
• Tech savvy with experience implementing systems automation;
• Strong leadership and team management skills;
• Ability to quickly adapt in a fast-paced environment;
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal;
• Strong process orientation, project management and change management skills.

Our Director of Finance & Administration will provide strategic direction to the business administration side of our organization. This includes:

• Overseeing the accounting activities to understand the financial results of the organization including creation of the budget & forecast, preparation & analysis of financial statements, and implementation of strong financial controls;
• Creating reports and dashboards to track results and monitor progress on key measures;
• Leading our team of administrative professionals to ensure accurate and efficient outcomes for all ‘back of the house’ operations of the organization;
• Leading the development, communication, and implementation of effective operational strategies and processes that support the company’s strategic plans;
• Streamlining technology and processes across the organization;
• Establishing an efficient and effective approach to change management;
• Designing and implementing business strategies, plans and procedures that promote collaboration and a positive culture for the organization.

Pay: $105,000.00 - $115,000.00 per year
