SITE: Part Time On-Site at An affordable rental housing family and senior community in Carlsbad, CA 92008

COMPENSATION: $21 - 23/hr. DOE

LANGUAGE: Bilingual - Spanish Required

Position Goals and Objectives:

Job Description

MJ Housing & Services is looking for a part-time (20 hours per week) Program Coordinator to provide organized social, recreational and enrichment activities at three affordable housing communities in Carlsbad, California. Primary responsibilities are organizing and leading after school program, adult educational/ well-being classes, community events and managing food distribution program, volunteers, and completing reporting.

Qualifications

· Experience with families

· Ability to utilize curriculum-based, technology-supported after-school programming, adult education, financial literacy, health and wellness and skills-building services to adult residents, along with limited individual social service support.

· Provide youth and young adults after-school educational support, mentorship, and leadership skills that are directed by the curricula of the local school systems and/ or industry-accepted standards.

· Ability to organize and schedule tasks while maintaining accurate records of resident participation and program success

· Ability to coordinate outreach, organize, and manage volunteers and vendors as needed to expand site programs provided; including but not limited to: nutrition, exercise, wellness, and other educational classes

· Ability to outreach to residents to promote all classes, workshops, and community events

· Must work well with youth, adults, management, and diverse populations

· Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing

· Ability to facilitate a variety of workshops for large and small groups

· Ability to respond to critical incidents and the ability to act appropriately in an emergency situation

· Requires the ability to move around constantly in an office space, community room, and throughout the space

· Frequently moves equipment or supplies up to 50 pounds from room to room
