Through data analysis, injury and illness review, along with audit findings the incumbent is responsible for implementing corrective actions to maximize job-site safety, while minimizing workplace hazards. In addition, the incumbent will participate in the development and implementation of required programs, policies and procedures within their region. Locations: Allen, TX JOB DUTIES Safety policy and objectives Provides technical safety expertise and coaching to employees at all levels of their assigned district/branch organization, including customers, where appropriate, in order to manage and/or minimize risk. Performs and manages safety audits to verify compliance, identify uncontrolled risks and deviations. Develops specific audit findings and verifies required follow-up is completed. Initiates and implements programs and activities to improve safety, reduce incidents and comply with regulatory requirements. Leads and/or influences others to improve safety performance through active participation in the workplace. Verify that all work-related incidents are fully investigated to closure in KONE’s Safety Management System. Facilitates incident reviews and develops lessons learned. Conducts assessments to verify individual competency of KONE Serious Injury & Fatality Prevention Program. Provides training assistance as required by district/branch management in line with regulatory/technical safety requirements. Drives corrective and preventive actions for continual improvement of safety. Working knowledge of industrial hygiene practices. Establish, manage and develop unit safety committee and other safety forums Participate in and contribute to global safety team meetings Compile, maintain and improve safety documentation and monitor usage Initiate and implement programmes and activities to improve safety Integrate and work closely with customers and partners in the safety management Support the development, review and exercise of crisis and emergency response plans Safety risk management Ensure use of and continually improve safety risk management processes, tools and practices Support or lead safety related change management projects and initiatives Safety assurance Produce safety data, ensure accuracy and develop indicators. Evaluate and report performance Monitor legal and business environment development in safety, identify and initiate actions Perform and manage safety audits to verify compliance, identify uncontrolled risks and deviations Assist line management in safety audits/visits and continually improve the auditing process Set safety targets, goals and plan with unit leadership and global safety function Develop annual safety budget in line with global budgeting guideline Manage incident investigations and continually improve the investigation process Drive corrective and preventive actions for continual improvement of safety Safety promotion Maintain and develop one’s own competences and the safety team Ensure the development and maintenance of safety competences in the unit Establish, maintain and improve safety communication processes, programs and materials Represent KONE to external stakeholders in safety matters under the direction of the unit head HIRING REQUIREMENTS Bachelor’s degree in engineering, industrial hygiene, or safety health required. CIH (Certified Industrial Hygienist) or CSP (Certified Safety Professional) preferred. OSHA 500/501 Certified 8-10 years of construction safety experience Union experience, preferred Multiple branch/office responsibility CFR 1926 (construction) and 1910 (general industry) OSHA Standards Capable of effectively multitasking Excellent MS Office, PowerPoint and Excel software skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills along with interpersonal, presentation and organizational skills across all levels of the organization. Travel ~50%. Must be able to work in a Labor/Management Partnership environment.
