Job Overview:
The Controller’s primary responsibility is to control and manage the accounting and administration functions of the Company (related to general ledger, tax accounting, accounts payable, and fixed assets) and to ensure the timely generation of complete and accurate accounting information (in accordance with local GAAP/IFRS) that can be used by management in making daily business decisions. The Controller is responsible for the assets of the Company and must ensure that controls are in place to safeguard those assets. This includes cash management to optimize our return on cash available from operations.
Responsibilities:
- Planning, directing and coordinating all accounting operational functions.
- Coordinating and preparing internal and external financial statements.
- Maintain, audit and analyze the General Ledger system including updating management reports and performing tasks associated with month end closes.
- Coordinates intercompany cross-charges with affiliates and oversees monthly balance reconciliations
- Analyze and assist in the preparation of the monthly accounting records, reports, and analysis of financial accounts.
- Must have a sound knowledge of US GAAP and IFRS.
- Complete and file required governmental forms (i.e., R&D spending, Manufact. Shipments, invent. Orders, etc.)
- Protects assets by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing internal controls and procedures to ensure compliance to corporate policies, IFRS, and SOX requirements
- Monitors and confirms financial condition by supporting audits through coordination with external auditors and providing necessary information.
- Responsible for monthly balance sheet account reconciliations and analysis.
- Proactively lead the finance team and business managers during the annual budget process. Assist the Finance Director in the review of budget submissions, suggest recommendations to department managers and report in line with the Group Budget Brochure.
- Coordinate the Accounts Payable related activities for USA with the ACC employees based in Mexico
- Responsible for governance and oversight of the transaction process activities within the USMCA region
- Supervise Fixed Asset and Treasury position and the activities related to treasury, and capital investments
- Support the MKS team with sales & use tax questions and audits.
- Perform other related duties that may be assigned or associated with the responsibility of the position.
Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance or related experience
- 5 years Accounting/Finance experience in a manufacturing environment (preferred)
- CPA or related Master’s Degree preferred
- 5 years Financial Management experience with a multinational, audit firm, or project management (preferred)
- 5 years SAP experience and expertise in ensuring FI and CO modules remain in balance (preferred)
- Strong business communication and presentation skills (preferred).
- Expertise in PC based products such as Excel, Word, Powerpoint, etc.
Ability to travel regionally/globally including mobility that would allow potential relocation outside USA for future assignment(s)
