Job Summary:
The Controller is responsible for the oversight of the Finance Department and the day-to-day financial needs. This role requires direct partnering with Executive and Key Leaders to ensure effective and efficient processes are in place. The ideal candidate must have the ability to manage and accomplish a multitude of tasks in a fast-paced environment with the skillset to properly prioritize projects based on business needs.

Job Functions
- Responsible for general ledger accounting including payroll, accounts payable, billing, service fees, etc.
- Responsible for cash flow and cash disbursements.
- Ensure all accounts payable invoices, expense reports, and corporate credit card payments are accurate and properly paid.
- Complete month-end and year-end close of income statement and balance sheet, reconcile accounts, and handle G/L analysis.
- Completes financial reports; including but not limited to monthly and fiscal close, internal and external reporting; manages report preparation and distribution.
- Manage processes for financial forecasting and budgeting and financial reporting processes.
- Provide timely and accurate analysis of budgets, financial reports, and financial trends to assist the Executive Team in performing their responsibilities.
- Maintain appropriate communication and rapport with Key Leaders and other staff.
- Monitor and analyze operating results against the budget and monitor trends and changes. Evaluate, recommend, Identify, explain and correct variances as appropriate.
- Ensure that effective internal controls are in place and ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable federal, state, and local regulatory laws and rules for financial and tax reporting.
- Assure legal and regulatory financial documents are filed and monitored for legal compliance.
- Liaison with external CPAs for preparation of federal and state tax returns and external auditors.
- Responsible for company 401k compliance and audits.
- Continual improvement of the budgeting process through education of department managers on financial issues impacting their budgets.
- Hands-on management style: interest in analyzing organizational processes and recommending changes to optimize available resources.
- Ensure all business activities are conducted in line with company values, policies, ethics, and codes of conduct.
- Maintain confidentiality in all aspects of client, staff, and company information
- Protect the organization’s values and principles by keeping information confidential and current.
- Takes action on items beyond formal job responsibilities.
Must haves for the Role
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field; Master’s degree preferred
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred, not required.
- Computer literate and highly proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PPT)
- Advance Excel skills, including pivot tables, V-look ups and logic functions.
- Experience in the healthcare industry preferred
- Must be familiar with the Basic Accounting Principles with the knowledge of applicable rules, regulations, and federal and state laws
- Proven leadership skills to manage, motivate, and set expectations with team members
- Ability to make decisions in a timely fashion that are sound, accurate, and supported by the reasoning and inclusion of the appropriate people
- Exceptional attention to detail with an emphasis on accuracy and quality to minimize the risk of errors
- Strong analytical skills to solve complex issues
- Must be able to prioritize and accomplish objectives at an acceptable level
- Must have effective written, verbal communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to establish working relationships, resolve interpersonal conflicts, and apply basic staff etiquette in dealing with others
