HISTOLOGY SUPERVISOR
FT, Histology Supervisor position within the laboratory at Meadville Medical Center and the Anatomic Pathology Department.
Summary
In consultation with the Laboratory Medical Director and Laboratory Manager, supervises, plans, coordinates and directs the daily activities of the department. Monitors quality control activities, day to day operations, instrument function and performance, assures the timeliness of preparations for all materials designated for pathologic work-up. Additional duties may apply.
MINIMUM EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
Bachelor's degree in a NAACLS-accredited Histotechnology program culminating into certification of an HTL is preferred; AND/OR an associate degree from a NAACLS-accredited Histology Technician program leading to certification of HT is preferred. A minimum of 5-10 years of leadership experience in the laboratory or pathology laboratory is preferred. Certification with the ACSP, AMT, or other national registering bodies is preferred.
