What are the responsibilities and job description for the Yard Laborer position at MNL?
MNL, a leader in ecological restoration, has an opening for a Yard Laborer. The Yard Laborer works with other company employees to fulfill the supply needs, which include vehicles, trucks, equipment, tools, materials and other supplies, for the next day's field operation projects.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Washes and details trucks and equipment.
- Checks fluids on all truckers, tractors, etc.
- Conducts inspection checks on trucks, trailers and machinery and report any issues to shift mechanic.
- Greases equipment and vehicles.
- Fuels equipment.
- Moves heavy equipment within company property lines.
- Loads equipment and vehicles.
- Secures vehicles and equipment by chaining and strapping, etc.
- Completes tasks on Trello for the next day's projects.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- Must be 18 year of age or older.
- Able to perform work in a safe manner.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently.
- Excellent time-management skills.
- Able to be flexible with the ability to adapt to changing conditions.
- Must have strong communication skills.
- Demonstrates truthfulness, accountability and honesty with managers and supervisors.
- Basic knowledge of farming and heavy equipment, implements and vehicles, preferred.
- Must be able to pass a criminal background check.
- Demonstrated success with living the company's values of passion for the mission to "Heal the Earth", craftsmanship, innovation, grit, and positivity.
Physical Requirements:
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Able to bend, stretch, push, pull, reach and move as needed.
- Must be able to drive different types of vehicles and equipment.
- Exposure to gasoline vapors and other mechanics fluids.
- Must be able to work in varying weather conditions, including extreme heat and extreme cold.
- Able to work evenings and weekends.
- This is a part-time 2nd shift position (3-4 shifts a week one Saturday shift a month)
- Potential for full-time work for the right candidate.
