Handyman

MNRC is an exterior restoration contractor that helps clients navigate the restoration process after weather-related damages have occurred to their property. In addition to existing staff, we are looking to hire an additional Roofing and Siding Service Technician.

MNRC is a locally owned and operated exterior restoration company with a primary focus on roofing and siding replacement. We are based out of Burnsville, MN and service the entire Twin Cities metro area.

Job Description:
A qualified individual for the Roofing and Siding Technician role will possess a general knowledge of exterior construction including but not limited to roofing and siding. The ability to identify deficiencies in a roof, siding and fascia systems and then make minor repairs and/or repair recommendations is required.

Responsibilities:

• Travel around the Twin Cities metro area to visit job sites during and after production
• Perform basic exterior repairs such as shingle replacement, fascia replacement, drip edge/siders edge replacement
• Light drywall work for ceiling repairs due to water leaks or to trim out newly installed skylights
• Carpentry skills should include ability to cut siding and install trim boards. Also includes installing finish trim for skylights
• Able to communicate effectively with clients to set up appointments
• Communicate effectively with clients at onsite visits to educate and manage expectations in terms of response to concerns and repair methods employed to resolve open tickets
• Document issues and completed repairs through photos and upload to existing files
• Communicate the close of a ticket to client and the company

Requirements and Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent qualification required.
• A minimum of 2 years’ working experience in a similar role.
• Ability to work with hardware tools and power equipment. The ability to cut, hammer, fasten and otherwise work with roofing materials.
• Ability to use an aluminum brake to bend metal
• Able to move around ladders and climb on roofs is a must
• Extremely organized with good communication skills.
• Detail-orientated with an aptitude for problem-solving.
• Must have valid driver’s license
• The ability to repeatedly lift and carry roofing materials daily such as rolls of roofing felt weighing approximately 75 pounds each.
• The ability to work in a variety of physical positions: including stooping, squatting, kneeling and crawling. Extensive use of arms and shoulders, gripping and safe use of small and large hand power tools.
• The ability to perform basic math functions.
• The ability to communicate effectively and follow written or verbal instructions and safety rules.
