What are the responsibilities and job description for the Physician position at Mobile Medical?
Provide the full scope of primary care services which fall under his/her field of training, including but not limited to diagnosis, treatment, coordination of care, preventive care and health maintenance to patients. In addition, a Primary Care Physician is a member of the Physician Housecalls team. In that capacity they are expected to be familiar with the philosophy, goals and objectives of the Company and work collaboratively to achieve them. They must be cognizant of, and comply with, all Physician Housecalls policies and procedures, as well as pertinent state and federal regulations.
Essential Job Responsibilities
- Supervises APPs (advance practice providers) in accordance with state regulations
- Holds maximum allowed APPs per state law on their license.
- Collaborates with additional APPs in the practice to provide clinical decisions, support and guidance including
- Weekly or bi-weekly check in calls with APPs to review most complicated patients.
- 2-3 patient visits per week either virtual or in person “ride-alongs” with APP
- Availability to answer APP questions Monday-Friday. May set “office hours” or expected times to check in outside of scheduled oversight calls.
- Obtains health history and performs physical examinations
- Diagnose and counsel patients on a plan of care.
- Prescribes medication in accordance with state statutes and professional practice guidelines
- Arranges referrals for patients requiring services not available through Physician Housecalls/ Mobile Medical
- Reviews incoming reports (e.g., lab, x-ray, EKG) and follows-up in a timely manner
- Performs minor procedures within the scope of practice of the PCPs license and board certification.
- Complies with accepted Infection Control standards which includes personally utilizing universal precautions. Ensures compliance by support staff
- Adheres to Physician Housecalls/ Mobile Medical productivity standards and meets at least the minimum requirement
- Timely completion of documentation.
- Exercises utmost diplomacy and tact to provide excellent customer service for patients, practices confidentiality and privacy protocols in accordance to Company policies and HIPAA requirements
- Performs all other duties as assigned
- After hour availability to clinical team
- Participates in weekly provider education calls and presents educational topics on these calls.
Requirements
Qualifications
- Current applicable State Medical License
- Current D.E.A. Certificate
- Board Certified by ABIM, ABMS, ABEM or ABFM) in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, Geriatrics (BC or BE), Emergency Medicine or Hospice and Palliative Medicine (BC or BE).
- Have 2 years post trainee practice experience in one of the Board-Certified fields listed above.
- Insurability (malpractice)
Physical Requirements:
- The ability to repeat motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers
- The ability to lift and carry up to 20 pounds; occasional lifting to 50lbs
- The ability to remain in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods.
- Requires some exposure to communicable diseases and body fluids including COVID.
- Travel is required, in all types of weather.
- Must be able to have a certain comfort level for any setting or area. (e.g., patients’ home)
- Reliable transportation along with equipment on hand for patients.
