MobilizeGreen seeks a conservation-minded 12 week Land Use Planning NPS Conservation Fellows Intern to support the Yosemite National Park and the National Park Service in the implementation of the Merced River plan for the most-heavily used trail corridor in Yosemite National Park. The enjoyment of the public/visitor experience is impacted by the lack of streamlined trip planning, wayfinding, and safety information on the popular, challenging trail. This data-gathering effort will help refine the purpose and need of the overall trail corridor improvements and evaluate alternative strategies to meet project goals. This project’s goals are to improve visitor and staff experience and safety through thoughtful cues for circulation and streamlined messaging. In this role, you will collect and analyze data on visitor movements and behaviors in order to help inform the plan and subsequent trail corridor design implementation.

The NPS Conservation Fellows program is a unique opportunity designed for current undergraduate, graduate, or PhD students to launch their natural and cultural resources careers. The intern will receive hands-on learning experience, mentorship, and coaching to complete mission-critical work while developing leadership, critical thinking, and strategic communication skills. This is a developmental program.

MobilizeGreen is an organization committed to diversity. Women, people of color, indigenous people, people of all sexual orientations and gender identities, military veterans, and members of other historically disenfranchised groups are encouraged to apply.
