About Moccasin Creek Country Club:
Moccasin Creek Country Club is a private 18-hole full-service club located in Northeast South Dakota. The area features great outdoor activities, is very family oriented, and has a low cost of living. The Aberdeen population draw in 2024 is approximately 65,000.
Founded in 1971, Moccasin Creek has hosted many South Dakota Golf Association championships and a major annual Dakotas Tour event. Recently the Club completed a $6,000,000 complete renovation of the clubhouse that has greatly increased member activity in all facets of the club operations.
The club hosts 18,000 rounds a year with 350 golf memberships along with another 250 social memberships and is regarded as one of the finer clubs in the state. Moccasin Creek features a championship caliber golf course, a first-rate practice range and short-game area, and a full service clubhouse, including several bar and dining experiences, and a banquet facility.

Key Responsibilities:
Grounds and Equipment Maintenance: Maintaining all grounds and course maintenance equipment, including turf, plants, shrubs, trees, and other facilities, according to the industry's high standards and the club's turf management program.
Personnel Management: Scheduling, training, supervising, and evaluating all department personnel, including maintaining accurate work records.
Budget and Planning: Preparing the annual budget, establishing short- and long-range plans for the golf course maintenance and improvement plans, and taking corrective actions as necessary to meet budget goals.
Safety and Compliance: Implementing and enforcing comprehensive safety programs, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal laws, and managing the club’s hazard communication (HAZCOM) program.
Communication and Collaboration: Regularly communicating and collaborating with the General Manager, Head Golf Professional, Board of Directors, Green Committee, and other committees about course conditions, maintenance plans, and scheduled events.
Environmental and Ecological Management: Overseeing and maintaining irrigation, drainage, and pest control systems, and ensuring responsible use and disposal of chemicals and petroleum products.
Qualifications:
Educational Background: A Bachelor’s degree in Agronomy, Horticulture, or Plant Science, or an Associate’s degree from an intensive two-year turf grass management program.
Experience: Previous work as an assistant to an experienced Golf Course Superintendent and supervisory experience in a club or golf course setting.
Certifications: Working toward or acquired Certified Golf Course Superintendent (CGCS) and Pesticide Application certification.
Other Requirements: A valid driver’s license and additional training in mechanics, design, surveying, and ecology.
Compensation and Benefits:
