Criminal Information Specialist I
The Mid-States Organized Crime Information Center (MOCIC) has an immediate opening for a full-time Criminal Information Specialist I. MOCIC offers an excellent benefit package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) retirement plan, and life and disability insurance. This is a non-exempt position. MOCIC is an organization composed of member law enforcement and criminal justice agencies in the Midwestern United States working together to combat multi-jurisdictional criminal activities. As one of the RISS Centers, MOCIC assists local, state, federal, and tribal criminal justice agencies by providing adaptive solutions and services that facilitate information sharing, support criminal investigations, and promote officer safety.
We are seeking a detail-oriented individual who is self-motivated, has the ability to work independently and as part of a team environment.
Duties: The primary duties include providing basic investigative support services to law enforcement and criminal justice agencies. This includes receiving, researching, evaluating and/or disseminating information obtained from a variety of resources and in compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Excellent communication and organizational skills required. Strong computer and research skills using various resources required. Must have strong time-management skills and the ability to handle confidential information.
Qualifications: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a degree in Criminal Justice or related field, supplemented with experience in law enforcement. Law enforcement experience preferred. Any equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the desired level of knowledge, ability and skill may be considered.
Location/Hours: Located in Springfield, MO and office hours are normally 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Flex schedule is considered after completion of probationary period. A flex schedule is dependent upon department needs and requires supervisor/manager approval. Travel may be required. Any questions please contact hr@mocic.riss.net.
Salary: The starting salary for this position is $46,739 plus benefits.
