Compiles and inputs journal entries to prepare monthly financial statements for insurance entities. Prepares quarterly and annual statutory financial statements. Reconciles all general ledger accounts. Performs financial analysis and assists with special projects as needed.
This is a Hybrid PST position.

Prepares journal entries and financial statements for two entities
Reconciles bank accounts
Reconciles all other general ledge accounts
Analyzes monthly results, researches, and explains significant variations
Prepares quarterly and annual statutory reports to be filed with AMBEST, NAIC, and various other states
Stays abreast of current accounting issues, including GAAP and SAP
Prepares miscellaneous compliance filings
Works with other departments as necessary to ensure financial statements are complete and accurate
Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Skills:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent specializing in Accounting or Finance
2 - 4 years accounting experience, preferably in insurance industry (SAP)
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
Typing and 10-key proficiency of 45 wpm and 170 spm on a computer numeric keypad/calculator, respectively
Strong understanding of balancing concepts
Strong analytical, problem solving, organizational, and attention-to-detail skills
Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
Ability to work well under pressure with frequent interruptions and shifting priorities
Willingness to work additional hours when necessary
Maintain confidentiality and project a professional business image
