Position Summary: 

The position’s primary purpose and focus

Modern Manufacturing is looking for a Saw Operator, for its manufacturing facility located in Eudora, KS.  The Band Saw Operator is primarily responsible for the precision cutting of metal material in a timely manner. This position must maintain high quality work, high level of attention to detail while ensuring personal productivity and safe operation of the machinery. The right candidate must be able to take ownership of the area, keep it organized neat and clean.

Position, Duties & Primary Responsibilities:

Major responsibilities of the position

• Effectively and safely operate a variety of assigned tools and equipment, including but not limited to, band saws, grinders, and forklift.
• Minimum 1-year industrial band saw experience
  
• Must be able to read calipers and tape measure.
• Basic math skills required.
• Prioritize, schedule, and review work.

• Ability to work under pressure in a fast paced environment and meet deadlines.

Working Conditions:

• This position requires walking, sitting or standing for extended periods of time
• Must have the ability to lift 50 pounds from floor to waist, carry 50 pounds, and push and/or pull up to 20 pounds
• Must have the ability to climb ladders and/or stairs
• Bending, reaching, kneeling, stretching, and working overhead
• Handling, feeling, and gripping
• Repetitive work
• Fast paced environment
• Exposure to potential hazards, therefore, protective clothing and equipment required such as steel-toed safety boots and a welding helmet
