What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director, Supply Chain Launch Lead position at Moderna?
The Role:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Supply Chain Launch Lead to join our team. You will be responsible for coordinating the global launch of new products through the supply chain process, ensuring that they are launched on time, and with maximum efficiency. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that all supply chain requirements are met and that products are delivered to market as planned.
Here’s What You’ll Do:
Develops the global launch plan and timelines for Regional/Local execution for seasonal products and leads the cross-functional global launch project ensuring timely execution
Drive definition and development of the product selection and network strategy for the product(s) under responsibility
Develops in coordination with Commercial, Regulatory and CMC the global SKU strategy ensuring alignment to local markets
Supports in conjunction with the Global Process Owner and the Digital team the system set-up and enablement Jurisdictional Control process for the product(s) under responsibility
Works cross-functionally to ensure the correct master data strategy for Final Drug Product, Distribution and Third-Party Logistics
Function as Supply Chain primary point of contact internal and external to CMC, including Clinical, Business Development, Marketing, Technical Development, Regulatory and Manufacturing.
Ensures alignment with the operations team responsible for the pre-filling distribution strategy, including validation batches, FDP mock-ups, DS and DP samples and reference standards
Stablish and leads the global/regional operations team ensure successful launch readiness of the product under responsibility and defines execution plans of lifecycle change activities in coordination with the LCM team
Leads global alignment and visibility in collaboration with regional/local Commercial Supply Chain of the plans for filing and launches ensuring compliance and with the designed launch timeline
Influences primary and secondary container selection
Develops regional Supply Chain, order management and distribution strategies
Coordinate with regional/local commercial supply chain the distribution strategy (transport lanes, storage, order types, distribution locations)
Lead supply chain evaluations of commercial capacity, service and cost requirements.
Collaborate with project teams to identify project risks, bottlenecks and contingencies and escalate as required.
Report on progress, risk and dependencies of key program initiatives to senior leadership.
Build KPI-driven dashboards to track and report progress of execution of product lifecycle priorities.
Here’s What You’ll Bring to the Table:
Education: University degree in technology, engineering, or management/business administration
Experience: 15 years (BA/BS) or 10 years (MS) in various Supply Chain, Project Management, and Manufacturing functions (strong preference towards Pharmaceutical and Biotech experience)
Experience in managing product lifecycle changes
Ideally, APICS certification and SAP experience
Proven ability to navigate a matrix organization structure to influence without direct reporting relationships
Outstanding communication skills (verbal and written) to collaborate with senior CMC Management in a dynamic, cross-functional matrix environment – you are outgoing, communicative, and seek to build relationships on a daily basis
Great project management skills – you’re able to manage multiple products in a fast-paced environment
Well organized – a natural ability to be organized in how you think, communicate and conduct your work
You drive for results – you set a high bar for yourself and others. You love what you do, and it shows
Good power point skills to visualize complex content in an easy to view manner would be a big plus
