Moffatt & Nichol is seeking Civil Engineers with entry level to 2 years of experience to join our team. The successful new hires may be seated in any of the following office locations: Baltimore, MD; Norfolk, VA; Raleigh, SC; Savannah, GA; Tampa, FL; Seattle, WA; Walnut Creek, Long Beach or San Diego, CA; or Honolulu, HI. You will assist with planning, designing, plan production, and creating construction documents to support complex projects such as port/cargo terminal upland site work, dredging, and municipal. Duties and responsibilities:
- Assist and support designs and construction projects by studying project concept, architectural drawings, and models
- Assist the preparation of engineering designs by collecting and studying reports, maps, drawings, aerial photographs, and tests on soil composition, terrain, hydrological characteristics, and related topographical and geologic data
- Prepare design documents and reports for civil site development (site layout, grading, drainage, erosion control, utilities, and other infrastructure systems)
- Perform calculations, prepare cost estimates, drawings, technical specifications, and write reports
- Assist in the production of engineering documents by developing construction specifications, plans, and schedules
- Perform limited field observations in support of construction and data collection

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
- Engineer in Training certification
- Entry level to 2 years of experience as a civil engineer, preferably with experience in site layout, stormwater, erosion control, utilities, and other infrastructure systems
- Related internship experience for entry-level candidates is desired
- Proficiency AutoCAD and Civil3D
- MicroStation and experience in stormwater modeling using WaterCAD or SWMM software is desired
Physical requirements:
Majority of work is office based. Some site visits may be required which may necessitate navigating unpaved or natural terrain while carrying equipment.
