Summary
Position Highlights:
The Mobile Lung Truck Driver and Logistics Coordinator is responsible for the safety and timely transport of the CT Mobile Lung Screening Truck (gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) 52,500 lbs.) and staff to approved screening sites and back to Moffitt Cancer Center. Perform logistics reviews on potential host sites including site surveys, ensuring proper logistics for the mobile unit including evaluating and communicating the leave time for events, estimated travel time, and time to return to home base. The driver is also responsible for assisting with the operations of the lung screening while it is parked. These tasks may involve assisting with screening events and tours by ensuring safe boarding and exiting procedures, collaborating with the screening team to manage patient flow, maintaining unit cleanliness, and supporting the program manager in coordinating multi-calendar functions. Other duties may be assigned as needed to ensure smooth operations. This position will require flexibility in scheduling, as the job may require irregular hours, including evenings and weekends. This individual will need strong customer service skills and ability to adapt to changing environments and situations. On an as needed basis, this individual will be required to drive the Moffitt shuttle, act as a courier between campuses and a transportation driver. Other relevant duties as assigned by leadership
Credentials and Qualifications:
- High School Diploma/GED
- Seven (7) years of experience driving and transporting individuals or products; inclusive of 2 years customer service. Experience must be specific to driving a truck with heavy medical equipment such as CT scan. Evidence of a safe driving record is required.
- Valid Florida Driver’s License.
- CDL B license endorsement.
- Ability to operate vehicles of various sizes and abilities from electric and gas driven trams (golf carts), full sized vans and (GVWR) over 33,000 lbs.
- Ability to visually inspect key predetermined components of vehicle and determine if vehicle condition is safe for operation.
- Knowledge of and able to perform routine preventative maintenance on all vehicles (fluid level checks, tire pressure checks, etc.).
- Intermediate computer skill levels, to include MS excel, outlook, calendar, Internet map and geographical software programs as well as use of cell phones for email communication and calendar scheduling. Excellent customer service skills.
- Ability to follow instructions via two-way radio.
Preferred Experience
- Investigative experience.
- Prior experience operating a commercial vehicle.
- CDL A license Endorsement.
- IATA Certification.
