Mohave Community College is seeking an innovative, collaborative and dedicated individual to coordinate talent pipeline development between Mohave Community College and communities within the region.  The Dean of Workforce and Regional Partnership Development will lead efforts to cultivate regional partnerships that help contribute toward fulfillment of the College’s strategic plan and intent of the mission, vision, and B.I.G (Bighorn Intrepid Goal) statements.

  1. Establish annual workforce, CTE, and regional partnership goals, strategies, and tactics that align with and support the College's strategic plan and executive priorities. Ensure these plans are implemented in a timely and consistent manner and allocates necessary human and fiscal resources to do so.
  2. Identify areas for growth and improvement within workforce development and CTE program by staying current with national research and best practices; leveraging internal and external data on related MCC outcomes, trends and labor market projections; and by continually evaluating internal practices and changes in the environment and student needs.
  3. Directly supervise the Associate Dean and offer them the responsibility for hiring and training CTE faculty and curriculum development staff and for providing ongoing training, development, and support for these individuals.
  4. With the assistance of the Associate Dean; lead the development and implementation of policies and procedures for the continuous improvement of all CTE programs, including a continuous review of competency-based education initiatives; develop and enhance CTE programs in cooperation with external constituents, advisory boards, and College leadership; ensure CTE faculty and staff are participating in all learning and program assessment that meets the goals of the College and the Higher Learning Commission; and work with Dean of Enrollment & Student Services to investigate new enrollment initiatives that meet the goals of the College, which would include recruitment and retention strategies. 
  5. Support the Associate Dean on the development of new curriculum for courses and programs.
  6. Identify grant opportunities that will help deliver new services, academic support, and workforce development programs as related to career and technical and community education. To build strong CTE programs, work with other state officials and community college partners on efforts to receive state or federal grants and other potential external funding opportunities through consortium models and regional partnerships.
  7. Provide leadership and strategic direction for all non-credit community and corporate education. 
  8. Supervise the Small Business Development Center (SBDC) Director and staff.
  9. Advise and make detailed presentations and recommendations to the President and other internal constituents and community members on workforce and CTE issues, current grants and new grant opportunities, and current and potential regional partnerships.
  10. Provide input, feedback, and assistance to other areas of the College when growth opportunities extend beyond Career & Technical Education.
  11. Collaborate with direct reports and other College administrators to manage the full range of Career & Technical Education programs and assess workforce, grant, and regional partnership needs. 
  12. Facilitate clear communication throughout the area and with other College stakeholders and participate in all assigned committees.
  13. Foster cross-functional collaboration and cooperation.
  14. Ensure that activities and events originating in Career & Technical Education are coordinated with other College units and included on the master calendar and other publications.
  15. Responsible for efficient and effective management and appropriate use of all funds to include developing, monitoring, and approving budgetary expenditures.
  16. Comply with College, state, and federal requirements in purchasing and other fund expenditures.
  17. Uphold and foster standards for shared governance, assessment, collegiality, professionalism, confidentiality, and service.
  18. Represent the College on relevant local, statewide, and national education and industry associations, committees and boards such as the Arizona Occupational Administrators' Council (AOAC), articulation task forces, state and regional Career & Technical Education organizations and other groups related to division goals and objectives.
  19. Lead and coordinate efforts to cultivate, implement, evaluate, and continuously improve other regional (i.e.- multi-campus/multi-community) partnerships that help contribute toward fulfillment of the College’s strategic plan and executive priorities. 
  20. Create multiple work-based learning opportunities for students as well as partner with regional and state leaders on the advancement of apprenticeship style programs that bridge on-the-job training with MCC educational opportunities. 
Minimum:
  • Master's Degree or higher from a regionally accredited institution or an equivalent combination of academic credentials, industry certifications, and professional experience that would qualify candidate for teaching at a community college.
  • Seven years of full-time postsecondary administrative experience, and five years of experience with workforce development and career and technical education initiatives.
  • Demonstrated experience with successfully developing and implementing regional partnerships.
  • Perkins V and/or other grant writing and management experience.
  • Any combination of education and experience that results in possession of skills, knowledge and behaviors as outlined in the position’s core competencies below:
