Coordinator of Pre- Employment Transition Services (Pre-ETS) Programs in our Student Affairs division. The Coordinator of Pre- Employment Transition Services (Pre-ETS) Programs is responsible for coordination and development of pre-employment services and resources to students with disabilities in secondary and postsecondary education programs who are age 16-21. The coordinator will collaborate with high schools, and other MVCC departments and staff to provide relevant and effective career exploration, disability related programming and support their high school transition plan. This position will partner with MVCC’s Offices and other high school disability support services to enhance the educational pipeline by assisting K-12 population with understanding opportunities available through MVCC.
Key responsibilities for this position include:

Recruits and determines eligibility for students in the Pre-Employment Transition Services (Pre-ETS) Program;

Meets with students enrolled in the Pre-ETS program for monthly progress updates and connects students to campus services, as required;
- Ensures compliance and execution of reasonable accommodations that facilitate equal opportunities while participating in pre-ETS programming;

Develops curriculum and conducts programming for Pre-Employment Transition Services in conjunction with related service offices for students related to job exploration counseling, workplace readiness, social skills and independent living, self-advocacy skills, and career planning;

Collaborates with student affairs personnel to support career related and disability related programing;

Participates and supports the office of accessibility resources (OAR) summer program for transition to college for first time college students with disabilities;

Creates, maintains, and ensures accuracy of student documentation, records data, and related information in an electronic format;

Coordinates program activities with college personnel;

Manages and organizes a student mentoring program for Pre-ETS identified students;

Coordinates services with outside disability agencies in the community, as required;

Performs other duties related to this job description and as assigned by the Director of Pre-ETS Programs.
Qualifications:
Required Qualifications:

Master's degree in human services or education related field OR Bachelor's degree and three (3) years’ experience providing disability related community employment and vocational support services

Ability to work with a diverse student body from cross-disability backgrounds

Ability to travel to multiple work sites, as needed
Preferred Qualifications:
-
Experience in Assistive Technology (AT), disability related career planning and post-secondary education, ability to work with a diverse student body from cross-disability backgrounds

Experience working with ACCES-VR, NYSCB, OPWDD and other governmental agencies
