This position is responsible for managing internal communication for the Mohegan Enterprise and serving as a project manager for various projects requiring significant or sensitive messaging. The incumbent will develop and execute an internal communications strategy, ensure company employment brand standards are met, drive consistency in messaging including digital resources for the enterprise (company intranet, career websites, etc.). Also responsible for creating communication copy for newsletters, employer recognition press releases, and enterprise memos. Reporting directly to the Director of People Experience, the position supports all enterprise team member communications ensuring engagement and a positive experience.
The Impact You Will Have
As a key member of the People Transformation team at Mohegan Corporate, this position is responsible for managing internal communication for the Mohegan Enterprise and serving as a project manager for various projects requiring significant or sensitive messaging. The incumbent will develop and execute an internal communications strategy, ensure company employment brand standards are met, drive consistency in messaging including digital resources for the enterprise (company intranet, career websites, etc.). Also responsible for creating communication copy for newsletters, employer recognition press releases, and enterprise memos. Reporting directly to the Director of People Experience, the position supports all enterprise team member communications ensuring engagement and a positive experience.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities includes but not limited to:
Consult and collaborate with the Chief People Officer (CPO) and Corporate Marketing leadership team on the development of an internal communications strategy for Mohegan Corporate and Enterprise team members.
Consult and collaborate with the CPO and Corporate Marketing leadership team on the development of company employment brand standards.
Develop and manage team member communication channels like social media platforms, career websites and enterprise intranet.
Write copy for, edit, and manage article submissions for Mohegan Corporate newsletters.
Write copy for Mohegan Corporate and Mohegan enterprise memos and adhere to the employment brand standards.
Draft press releases and manage the communication efforts for Mohegan employer recognition awards.
Manage presentation submissions and facilitate Mohegan Corporate’s quarterly leadership meeting, People Summit, etc.
Design and launch internal communication templates using employment brand standards.
Manage project timelines, communications, and messaging in all forms
- video, job aids, PowerPoint decks, etc.
Secondary Duties and Responsibilities:
Project manage initiatives and special projects for the Mohegan Corporate People Team
Manage communication projects across the Enterprise
Redesign and maintain recruitment forms, documents and templates
Create PowerPoint presentations/decks.
Minimum Education and Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in communications, marketing, advertising, public relations, or other relevant discipline required
Three to five years of experience in internal communications or a position where writing was significant, global writing experience is helpful
Previous multi-brand marketing or communication management experience managing internal communication strategies enterprise-wide (multiple locations within the company) including writing copy for senior leaders
Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality
Exceptional communication abilities, including writing, speaking and active listening
Advanced PowerPoint, PhotoShop, InDesign and AdobePro skills required.
In-depth knowledge of best writing and messaging practices for business correspondence, public relations, advertising, marketing and sales copy and social media
Ability to effectively engage with team members of all levels and across departments
Great project management skills, including time management, goal-setting, multitasking and prioritization
Good data analysis, problem-solving and critical thinking skills
Leadership abilities, including training and mentorship
In-depth experience navigating change management within an organization
Previous experience managing an enterprise company intranet is preferred.
Previous marketing or communications experience in hospitality, casino and/or entertainment/amusement industries preferred
Experience writing scripts and production of video content preferred
Competencies: Incumbent will master the following competencies while in this position:
Knowledge of Mohegan corporate and department policies and procedures
Ability to proficiently navigate the Mohegan Sun HR Portal, Team Member App, and Workday system
Knowledge of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) as it relates to accessibility standards for communications
Ability to remain objective and exercise sound judgment
Sound understanding of Mohegan brand standards
Training Requirements:
Completion of all system training programs and compliance training

Must be able to be in front of a computer screen for extended periods of time
Must be able to work various shifts and flexible hours
Must be able to adapt to ever-changing, fast paced work environment
