Who we are looking for
MOJO is looking for a curious, passionate, and well-rounded Lead UX designer to join our growing agency. As a lead on the team, you demonstrate a full understanding of the end-to-end user-centered design process with the ability to jump in and own work across the different needs and phases of our clients’ projects. Ambiguity doesn’t scare you, you’re experienced at rolling up your sleeves and working with the information you have to gain better clarity and understanding and bringing others along that journey. Collaboration is your normal operating mode as you’ll find yourself working very closely with designers, comms and marketing, technology, project managers, and business folks. You are also very comfortable working directly with and presenting solutions to clients and stakeholders. You’re someone who can zoom out to connect the dots, zoom in to fine tune the details, and are looking for a fun, low-ego, and challenging environment. Your responsibilities
- Take a leading role in projects involving brainstorming, sketching, detailed design, presentation, and documentation of solutions
- Work independently at times with client partner asks or internal initiatives
- Advocate for user needs while balancing business requirements and technological feasibility in every step of the design process
- Conduct usability/validation testing to vet designs and identify friction points
- Consider the end to end experience and identify opportunities and barriers for users
- Drive creation of sitemaps and information architecture, own wireframing and prototyping, develop multiple concept directions
- Deliver best-in-class design interfaces that take into account the latest platforms, technologies, accessibility guidelines, and industry standards
- Propose, plan, and lead design research related activities on project
- Provide guidance and mentorship to fellow design team members
- Articulate ideas and rationale, written and verbal, to internal team members and clients
- Innovate on process, methods, and workflow and push for the best way of working
- Proactively manage your time and schedule and meet or exceed expectations and deadlines
- Thrive in a challenging, fast-paced, creative workplace
Your skills and experience
- A design-related bachelors or masters degree
- 5 years of professional design experience in an agency, consultancy, or in-house team
- Portfolio that demonstrates your abilities and experience
- Experience managing projects and other team members
- Experience working with cross-functional teams including designers, developers, and product managers
- Proficiency with tools of trade including Figma, user testing tools, prototyping tools, Adobe Creative Suite
- Knack for asking the right questions and hunting down satisfactory answers
- Judgment and confidence to push back on requests and challenge assumptions to strive for the best results
- Excellent written, verbal, and visual communication and presentation skills
- Openness to critique, collaboration, and co-authorship
- Eagerness to grow and learn, as well as teach and guide
Salary : $75,000 - $140,000
