Director of Internal Audit (casino)

DIRECTOR INTERNAL AUDIT (CASINO COMPANY – RENO, NEVADA)

Our client, a public casino company, is seeking a Director of Internal Audit. The Director of Internal Audit is the #1 Internal Audit role for the company, overseeing 3-4 auditors and reporting directly to the Board of Directors.

The Director of Internal Audit will direct the overall operations and staff of the Internal Audit department, and ensure compliance with internal controls, gaming regulations, and SOX. The Director of Internal Audit will collaborate with key internal stakeholders, and work with the external auditors.

Additional responsibilities include: assisting in the implementation, and enforcement of the property SARC/Title 31 and Responsible Gaming compliance programs; serving as a liaison to the Nevada Gaming Control Board to ensure timely responses to incident reports; and collaborating with company management and the Nevada Gaming Commission to ensure significant changes to the company’s operating environment (new facilities, system upgrades, gaming mix changes, etc.) are completed in accordance with NGCB regulations.

Qualifications

• Casino/gaming experience is required for this position, candidates without prior experience in Internal audit at a casino resort will not be considered.
• Bachelor's degree (B.A. /B.S.) in Business or related field from four-year college or university; 5 years’ experience in audit/compliance
• CPA, CIA, CFE or CMA designation highly preferred
• Must have knowledge of SOX controls
• Must be proficient in Microsoft applications (World, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Must have thorough knowledge of Casino Operations, gaming software and equipment, and Title 31
• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the board of directors.
• Must have the ability to interact with guests, staff and colleagues and resolve problems and conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner.

• Up to $150K base salary, depending on experience/qualifications
