Job Title: Medical Assistant / LPN

Supervisor: Clinic Manager

Classification: Full-Time or Part-time

Hourly Pay Rate: $18-20.00/hour

Monarch Health, located in downtown Madison, provides compassionate, high-quality medication for opioid and/or alcohol use disorder treatment coupled with counseling to patients that are seeking recovery. Our goal is to provide whole-person care that includes the use of safe and effective medications.

Job Summary:
The Medical Assistant / LPN position is an in-clinic full-time, M-F position. The Medical Assistant / LPN will provide compassionate care to patients struggling with substance use disorders in an outpatient clinic setting. You will interact with the Clinic Manager, physicians, therapists, CCS staff (Dane County CCS program) and patients to provide excellent addiction medicine patient care.
You will collect specimens for laboratory testing, administer medications to patients in the clinic, and serve as liaison and patient advocate with internal and external medical providers.
The Medical Assistant / LPN will provide follow up with patients and referral sources, as needed, to assure that appointments have been kept, and Monarch Health has received and recorded results. The MA / LPN will enter and track patient data in AthenaNet, Monarch Health’s electronic health record (EHR).

Essential Responsibilities:
The the job responsibilities will include the following:
Take vital signs and room patients
Obtain blood and urine specimens for laboratory testing
Coordinate patient care with Monarch Health providers. (PA, NP’s, MD’s)
Run moderate complexity lab tests.
Assist in maintaining compliance with CLIA lab regulations.
Coordinate patient services with other clinic staff to include Therapist, Peer Support, and other clinic personnel in regard to patient treatment and medications.

Required Education, Skills & Abilities:
Experience or demonstrated ability to learn the Monarch Health EHR system (Athena Health)
MA certification, LPN License or higher is required
Demonstrated mathematical skills, clerical skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with clinic staff, patients, and the public
Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology and medication names
Knowledge of medical coding helpful, as well as drug interactions
