WHO YOU ARE:

You are flexible, adaptable to quickly changing priorities and thrive in a startup environment. You have HRIS/payroll and stock administration experience in a small or startup company. The Payroll Specialist will assist with processing payroll and stock administration for the US and Canada. You will also assist with benefits administration, onboarding, offer letter creation, HR documentation and developing a monthly Global Headcount report for executives. You will be involved with employee support and assist the HR team with tasks and ad hoc projects as needed. This position is based on-site in Austin, TX and will report directly to the Senior HR Operations Manager.


WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Process multi-state semi-monthly and biweekly payroll for 200 exempt and non-exempt employees in both US and Canada.
  • Perform all HRIS/payroll functions in the HRIS/payroll platform, Justworks.
  • Perform quarterly payroll reconciliation related to leave balances.
  • Collaborate with Human Resources to ensure accurate employee data and updates.
  • Have full knowledge of and comply with state, city, provincial, local, and federal legislation affecting payroll. Understands and follows applicable provisions.
  • Prepare standard reports and ad hoc reports as needed.
  • Manage the headcount report for 1300 employees globally by compiling the data from several sources.
  • Prepare required tax filings and reporting.
  • Work closely with Finance to reconcile payroll entries.
  • Ensure SOX compliance requirements are met.
  • Assist in the administration of the 401K plan, Employee Stock Purchase Plan and RSU agreements as well as creating vesting schedules, assigning and distributing grants, uploading employee tax information from payroll system to Fidelity, with the assistance of Fidelity.
  • Work with external benefits advisors and answer employee inquiries related to benefits, leave management.
  • Assist the HR team with offer letters, onboarding, offboarding and ad hoc projects as needed.


CANDIDATE PROFILE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, a related field, or equivalent years of experience.
  • At least 3 years of payroll processing experience.
  • Existing knowledge of various state payroll laws.
  • Experience working in a HRIS/Payroll system.
  • Knowledge of benefits administration.
  • Knowledge of stock administration.
  • Excellent attention to detail, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Flexibility and adaptability.
  • Ability to thrive in a startup environment.
  • Must be willing to assist the HR team with various tasks and ad hoc projects.
  • Must be comfortable working on-site at our office.
