Underground Utility Foreman

The Utility/Pipe Foreman will assist in the supervision of water, sanitary sewer and storm sewer installation to ensure optimum productivity and construction compliance. The Utility/Pipe Foreman will supervise the lay out, assembly, and installation of various sizes and types of pipe.

Key Duties:

· Coordinate and supervise daily activities of a 2-5 person crew.

· Utilize heavy equipment to excavate, install, and backfill drainage pipe.

· Sequence pipe installation to reduce interference with other project activities.

· Continually inspect work site, surveying for potential hazards and safety concerns.

· Supervises field labor in piping disciplines. Responsible for safety, quality, productivity and schedule adherence.

· Assists in planning work schedule, determining field labor levels and tool/equipment requirements.

· Assists with time cards and record keeping - timely and accurately maintains and completes quantity records and time cards.

· Timely and accurately maintains and keeps current all construction documents (change orders, schedules, purchase orders, RFI's, submittals, daily dairies and quantity books.

· Complete projects in accordance with federal, state, and local governing laws, ordinances, and policies

· Ensure safe practices and procedures are followed

Qualification Requirements:

• Education & Experience: This position is not entry level and requires previous experience as a Utility/Pipe Foreman. Must be able to understand work directions and communicate effectively with management, fellow employees, and owner. Minimum 3-5 years experience required.
• Physical Demands: The following physical demands are representative of those that must be met by an Utility/Pipe Foreman to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
• Constant physical effort, including standing, is required during a regular work shift of at least 8 hours per day.
• Maintain constant alertness to the multiple concurrent activities of the construction site, including the activities of other employees and the operation of stationary and mobile equipment.
• Must be able to climb on and off heavy equipment safely.
• Frequently walk on uneven surfaces, including natural ground in varying weather.
• Will manage crew including: scheduling, prioritizing assignments, requisition materials, and equipment necessary to complete projects timely in cooperation with the Area Manager
• Other duties as assigned

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $80,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
