As a Chemist at Monolith, you are responsible for the continued improvement of our carbon black in customer applications. You will play a key role in supporting various research projects, conducting experiments, analyzing data, and contributing to the development of new products and processes. Our chemists will collaborate across teams and with customers to drive innovation in the domains of rubber, plastic, inks, and batteries using material generated by our proprietary technology. Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Materials Science and Engineering, Chemical Engineering or a related field of study
0-2 years of experience in a laboratory environment working with materials characterization instruments and techniques
You consider yourself to be analytical and a problem solver

What you'll do in the role:
Conduct laboratory experiments to support research initiatives under the guidance of senior scientists.
Prepare and test different chemicals and materials for various applications.
Perform requisite analyses to characterize materials and compounds, including XRF, XRD, ICP-OES, TEM, SEM, TGA-MS, and DSC among others.
Maintain accurate records of experimental procedures, data, and results.
Assist in the interpretation and analysis of experimental data to draw meaningful conclusions.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support project objectives and timelines, both within the facility and the broader company.
Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized laboratory environment.
Your environment:
You will work in an office and lab setting at our technical center in Lincoln, Nebraska.
Monday-Friday, 40 hrs/wk, weekend availability as needed
