Description:
The Assistant Athletic Trainer works under the supervision of the Head Athletic Trainer, Director of Athletics and Team Physician and provides athletic training care to student athletes competing in the college’s athletic program. Responsible for the prevention, evaluation, management, and rehabilitation of injuries within the college’s comprehensive sports medicine program and under the direction of the standing orders set by the college’s Team Physician.
Primary Responsibilities:
· Prevention of athletic injuries and illnesses
· Evaluation and Treatment of athletic injuries
· Assist in yearly physicals.
· Providing counseling and education to student athletes
· Set up and breakdown of water, ice, training table, medical supplies etc. for home and away competitions.
· Home game and practice coverage
· Travel to National Tournaments
· Recordkeeping and EMR documentation
· Work with doctors and other allied health professionals to deliver care to student athletes
· Maintenance of Athletic Training Room
Required Qualifications
· Master's Degree/Bachelor’s degree in appropriate area of specialization with experience in collegiate athletics.
· Certified by the National Athletic Trainers’ Association Board of Certification (NATABOC)
· NYS Athletic Training Licensure

· Familiarity with NCAA, NAIA or NJCAA governing rules
· Ability to work flexible schedule, including nights and weekends, have the ability to travel, and possess communication skills to work with a diverse constituency including students, parents, coaches, faculty, staff, administration, and outside contacts.
· Flexibility to attend functions organized by Monroe College with intent to educate, share, and celebrate the Monroe College philosophy and the success of our students.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $64,000.00 - $66,000.00 per year
