Department Name: Monroe County Planning Department
Position Title: Planner II
Position Summary: Incumbent serves as Planner II for the Monroe County Plan Commission, responsible for gathering, analyzing, and disseminating information needed for County Planning, assisting with policy formation and implementation, and providing technical and planning assistance to the public and government entities.
Planner II assists in reviewing all types of planning processes including, but not limited to, variances, site plans, planned unit developments, rezones, subdivisions, and more. Planner II will regularly work with the public to administer the zoning and subdivision control ordinances and assist through planning processes. There are also opportunities to be engaged in long- range planning.
Qualifications: Master’s degree in planning or a closely related field preferred. AICP accreditation preferred, but not required.
Salary: Starting salary of $49,629 per year; $55,141 after 3 years (40 hours per week).
