LOCATION OF POSITION: Monroe One BOCES - 41 O'Connor Road, Fairport, NY 14450;
Technology Services - Buffalo Road
TERM OF EMPLOYMENT: 12 Month Position - Full Time
STARTING DATE: As Soon As Possible
DUTIES:
1. Gather and analyze information for developing and modifying data processing systems.
2. Facilitate needed enhancements or program changes for state or federal reporting.
3. Analyze business procedures and problems in programmable form for data processing and workflow automation.
4. Design and specify methods needed to streamline processes that will create efficiencies for our schools.
5. Aid school district staff to help gather data by investigative research to help them make sure correct data is used for creating reports.
6. Act as liaison for School Districts with Vendor to help facilitate needed enhancements or program changes for any new State or Federal reporting.
7. Work with school districts in all phases of reporting design to identify any potential problems.
8. Assist districts by updating current canned system reports.
9. Have a thorough understanding of Ed Law2d as it relates to data privacy.
10. Interface directly with all functional work groups in the Regional Information Center to ensure school district needs are being satisfied and to deliver excellent customer service.
11. Establish time/deadline guidance required for reporting.
12. Research of State and Federal requirements for reporting
13. Maintain and update skills with Azure, Power BI, Access, Excel, Crystal Report, SQL, and all relevant software.
14. Attend trainings and meetings in all system areas.
15. Perform other duties as required by Supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Civil Service eligibility as
Computer Programmer:
A. Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma, plus three (3) years of full-time or its part-time equivalent paid experience in computer data processing activities, at least two (2) years of which shall have been in computer programming; OR
B. Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university with an associate degree in a computer science field, plus two (2) years of full-time or its part-time equivalent paid experience in computer data processing activities, one (1) year of which shall have been in computer programming; OR
C. Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university with a bachelor's degree in a computer science field, plus one (1) year of full-time or its part-time equivalent paid experience in computer programming; OR
D. Graduation from a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university with a bachelor's degree, plus two (2) years of full-time or its part-time equivalent paid experience in computer programming; OR
E. An equivalent combination of training and experience as defined by the limits of (A), (B), (C) and (D).
2. Experience in Access, Excel, Crystal Reports and SQL.
3. Knowledge of Wincap, Finance Manager, Munis, Infinite Campus and School Tool helpful.
4. Physically able to perform essential functions of the position (with or without reasonable accommodation).
