What are the responsibilities and job description for the UI Developer position at Montana State University?
We’re hiring a UI Developer at Web and Digital Communications to build interfaces, prototype new ideas, and ensure our website and applications are accessible for all.
The Web and Digital Communications team is responsible for the university’s website and 40 applications.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Collaborate with our UX/UI Designer and fullstack developers.
- Create responsive UI components that meet web accessibility standards.
- Prototype new features and enhancements to improve user experience and interface functionality.
- Work closely with stakeholders to understand project requirements and provide technical guidance.
- Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in UI Design, web accessibility, and front-end development.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications – Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
- Proficiency in design tools such as Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar software.
- Experience writing semantic HTML.
- Experience building interfaces that meet WCAG standards.
Preferred Qualifications – Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills
- Experience using XSLT.\
- Graphic Design experience.
