Seasonal Park Maintenance
$14.00 per hour

General Summary:
Under the supervision of the Director of Building and Grounds, performs all of the duties of maintenance and repair tasks such as repairing and replacing plumbing fixtures, performing preventative maintenance on heating and cooling systems, performing roofing repairs, painting, and related tasks. Performs grounds maintenance tasks such as mowing grass.
Employment Qualifications:
Education: Basic reading skills.
Experience: Previous buildings and grounds maintenance experience is a plus.
Other Requirements: Michigan Driver’s license. Able to back up a truck and trailer.

Walking over uneven terrain to maintain lawns and grounds.
Walking throughout all areas of various County buildings.
Squatting, stooping, kneeling to maintain and repair facilities and equipment.
Bending, stooping, and crouching in order to clean various fixtures.
Climbing ladders in order to replace light bulbs and clean walls and ceilings.
Climbing into trucks and onto other equipment.
Operating trucks to haul equipment.
Ability to drive to various County locations.
Lifting ability to remove and replace parts on building mechanical systems.
Ability to lift, push and pull furniture.
Ability to lift bags of trash weighing up to 30 lbs.
Ability to operate steam cleaner and vacuum.
Ability to reach and clean all areas of buildings and fixtures.
Working Conditions:
Works in confined spaces.
Works outside in varying weather conditions.
Works in all areas of County buildings and properties.
Works in cramped body positions to perform maintenance and repairs.
Exposure to equipment where risk exists of getting burned, bruised or scraped.
Exposure to environmental allergens such as grass, weeds and pollens.
Contact with oil and petroleum products.
Exposure to solvents, degreasers, pesticides and herbicides.
Exposure to gases and fumes.
Works in cramped positions to perform some cleaning tasks.
Exposure to various chemical cleaning products.
