Job Description POSITION DESCRIPTION Tenure-track, Assistant Professor of Clinical Nutrition faculty position in a vibrant and growing ACEND-accredited dietetics program serving diverse students and communities. Appointment includes teaching a range of undergraduate and graduate courses including advanced nutrition, principles of nutrition, medical nutrition therapy, and medical nutrition applications for prospective nutrition and food science professionals with emphasis on dietetics in the department. We are seeking a candidate who has scholarship in an area related to chronic diseases, obesity, eating disorders, clinical nutrition and dietetics etc.; demonstrates the ability to work collaboratively in and with socially, culturally, and economically diverse communities, has a commitment to education for social justice, democratic practice, and critical thinking; and/or displays interest in addressing issues of diversity in research, teaching, and curriculum development. Appointment includes research, teaching, and contribution to scholarly and leadership endeavors. Faculty members are expected to be active scholars, develop a significant body of refereed publications, advise students, engage in curriculum development, contribute to accreditation processes, and participate in department, college, and university committees. The Department of Nutrition and Food Studies offers bachelor’s, master’s and accelerated master’s degrees, post-bachelor’s certificates in dietetics and sustainability, and a post-bachelor’s dietetic internship. THe Department is supported by three FT professional staff, and 10 FT tenured faculty. The dietetics program is an ACEND-accredited program that cultivates future registered dietitian nutritionists. QUALIFICATIONS Required: Earned doctorate in Nutrition/Food Science or related field; if doctorate is in a field other than Nutrition/Food Science or related, experiences as a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) in a clinical setting; earned RDN credential and maintained currency; well-defined research agenda, evidence of scholarly activities with a focus on areas related to clinical nutrition and dietetics. Demonstrated excellence in teaching, and demonstrated commitment to student and faculty diversity, equity, and justice.
