Montco SAAC is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Activities Coordinator to join our team at the Norristown Senior Community Center. Montco SAAC (Senior Adult Activities Center of Montgomery County) is a vibrant community hub dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for individuals aged 50 and older. With locations in Norristown and Ambler, PA, Montco SAAC offers a variety of programs and services, including social, educational, and recreational activities, as well as a robust Meals on Wheels program and an inter-generational arts center. Responsibilities
- Develop and manage a comprehensive monthly activities calendar.
- Organize and lead both on-site and off-site activities and events.
- Ensure a safe, engaging, and inclusive environment for all participants.
- Maintain records and reports and submit them in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with community organizations to enhance program offerings.
- Assist in attracting new participants and volunteers.
- Conduct individual assessments to tailor activities to participants' interests and abilities.
- Manage activity supplies and help oversee the center's physical environment.
- Assist with fundraising and special events.
- Participate in regular training and professional development opportunities.
- Foster a welcoming and culturally diverse environment within the center.
Physical Demands: Regularly required to walk, stand, bend, kneel, reach, and lift up to 25 lbs. (Reasonable accommodations can be made for individuals with disabilities.)
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of one year of experience in a related field. Equitable work experience may substitute for degree.
- Experience in program development and working with the elderly.
- Strong organizational, planning, and communication skills.
- Proficiency with computers and software such as Windows, MS Office.
- Ability to work as part of a diverse team and adapt to changing circumstances.
