What Youll Do at Monteith Construction
You will work to deliver an exceptional building for our clients. Below, you will find some of the duties that you will perform as a Preconstruction Engineer:
- Develop conceptual and detailed estimates, perform quantity take-offs, solicit trade pricing, and help to select the best partners for our jobs
- Support the development, architectural, and construction teams with preconstruction expertise
- Read and interpret plans and specifications, and addenda
- Review proposal specifications, drawings, attend bid meetings, etc. to determine the scope of work and required contents of estimates
- Maintain files of working documents as a backup for estimates figures.
- Communicate with project owners, contractors, and others to provide cost data regarding project feasibility
- Follow awarded contracts as assigned may include extra work items, change orders, etc.
Experience You Should Have:
- Minimum 3 5 years experience in construction management or estimating required
- Bachelors degree in Engineering, Construction Management or related field or combination of education and experience strongly preferred
- Ability to create and sustain relationships between Monteith and owners, architects, engineers and trade partners
- Excellent communication skills; both written and oral
- Use of electronic take-off software and office applications; Planswift, iSqFt, Bluebeam, Excel, Outlook, etc.
