ABOUT THE ROLE: We are seeking a Packing and Shipping Supervisor to oversee the daily operation of the Packing/Shipping department. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate and on time order fulfillment, while adhering to all applicable protocols and Standard Operating Procedures. The role requires a close working relationship with sales and management to coordinate scheduling and delivery requirements with our distribution network.
Job Title: Packing and Shipping Supervisor

Locations: Madisonville, Texas
Reports To: Plant Manager
Work Schedule: Generally M-F 6:30 AM – 3:30PM, Saturday and Sundays as needed
Travel Time %: Generally None
Position Type: Full-Time
FLSA Status: Exempt
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Planning for daily Packing/Shipping needs of labor, product, and necessary supplies
- Supervise Packing/Shipping employees and directing daily activities of packing and shipping
- Direct daily operation to ensure product is ready on time
- Ensure product and outgoing trucks meet proper temperature standards
- Adhere to first in first out inventory protocol
- Ensure that all orders are filled, and trucks are loaded on time with complete accuracy
- Training of all Packing and Shipping teammates
- Monitor and update Standard Operating Procedures and protocols while maintaining a safe work environment
- Perform Monthly Safety and GMP Audits and ensure all GMP and Safety standards are followed
- Create a positive work environment for all teammates
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
- Achieve departmental efficiency goals as set by the company
- Follow and enforce all safety protocols; attend and conduct safety meetings as required
Direct Reports:
- Department Leads, and all teammates
In addition to managing current direct reports; this position manages all employees of the department and is responsible for the performance management within that department.
- Responsible for interviewing, selecting and training teammates.
- Perform teammate performance evaluations, and corrective actions as necessary
- Plans the work schedules, assigns duties, tracks absenteeism and reviews work to ensure quality standards.
- Responsible for monitoring work for legal or regulatory compliance.
- Observes and practices safety and housekeeping procedures at all times.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
Required:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Three to Five years prior leadership experience
- Ability to operate a forklift and pallet jack
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with all professional and management levels
- Detail oriented with ability to effectively organize and prioritize
- Must possess a commitment to exceeding customer expectations
- Skilled in working as a team and coordinating safe work practices
- Ability to read and follow written procedures, with basic math and inventory skills
Desired:
- Bachelor Degree
- Bilingual-English and Spanish (or other language)
- Experience working with JDE
