What are the responsibilities and job description for the Primary Assistant Teacher position at MONTESSORI WEST CHRISTIAN SCHOOL?
Qualifications
An Assistant Teacher must:
Be at least 18 years of age
Have a high school diploma or equivalent education
A minimum of 6 months experience in a licensed DSS facility is preferred
Submit to various criminal background checks including those completed through the South Carolina Department of Social Services
Be CPR, First Aid, and Blood Borne Pathogen certified or obtain certification within 30 days of hire
Complete Tuberculosis Test and Physical and provide documentation of both as required by the South Carolina Department of Social Services
Possess a strong work ethic, be punctual, and have minimal absences
Have dependable transportation

· Be a positive role model for the school community
· Be customer service oriented and professional
· Be attentive and interactive with children
· Maintain a professional self-image and project the values of the organization at all times
· Arrive in the classroom, ready to work at scheduled time
· Appropriately supervise children while keeping them safe at all times
· Creating and maintaining an environment that is clean, and organized
· Clean table, chairs, and floor after breakfast, lunch , and snack
· Wash spoons as needed
· Clean door knobs to bathroom doors , entry/exit doors, light switches (including bathroom switch) OFTEN during day.
· Clean countertops, microwave, and fridge as needed
· Sanitize work during rest period
· Keep shelves organized and clean at all times
· Pick up work as needed
· Change diapers every hour or as needed
· Be attentive and interactive with children

Pay: $10.00 - $11.50 per hour
