Salary Information

Compensation plans are based on a multi-step progression system. The pay range reflects the entry level and maximum salary potential in the assigned pay grade.\r\n**A starting salary may be negotiated and will be commensurate with education, training and experience in alignment with pay administration policies and MCCP Board Rules & Regulations**\r\n

Nature of Work

The\r\nfundamental reason this class exists is to have management oversight for the Grants\r\nDepartment. Major work functions include managing the grants department staff, the\r\ndevelopment oversight of all grant programs, the administration of all grant\r\nprograms, writing grants and interfacing with various City personnel and\r\nmanagement concerning accounting or fiscal needs of grants. Duties are\r\nperformed with considerable knowledgeable independence according the standards\r\nof professional grant writing and administration, City ordinances and state and\r\nfederal laws. Grant and grant related programs include Housing and Urban\r\nDevelopment (HUD) funded grants awarded citywide under the Community\r\nDevelopment Block Grant Program (CDBG), HOME, Emergency Shelter Programs, as\r\nwell as, non-entitlement grants, public and private grants, and other special\r\ngrants. The employee ensures that all federal and state grant requirements,\r\nsuch as labor standards, environmental reviews, and project/program\r\neligibility, are met in order to provide for new and continued grant funding.\r\nWork is supervised and evaluated under the direction of the Finance Director.\r\n

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree\r\nin public administration, business administration, planning, or a related field\r\nand seven years of experience in grants administration to include four years of\r\nrelated supervisory experience.\r\n\r\nNOTE:�Qualifying education, training and experience that provide the requisite knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the job will be considered.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
