Job Description
Montgomery College has an immediate need for a full-time Human Resources (HR) Generalist in the HR Strategic Talent Management Department. The work schedule is Monday-Friday, 8:30am-5:00pm. This is an exempt, non-bargaining, grade 29 position. This position is eligible for telework up to two days per week after successful completion of initial employment probationary period. Responsibilities of the Human Resources Generalist will include partnering with HR internal teams to support the daily operations of the Human Resources Strategic Talent Management Department. This position serves as resource for HR matters related to recruitment, classification & compensation, and organizational development, and HR outreach. The ideal candidate will be proactive, comfortable working with individuals at all levels within the organization, have a high level of discretion, must be able to work in a team environment, and work with employees on an individual basis as needed.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Develop and execute recruitment plan in collaboration with hiring manager. Including creating job posting announcements, sourcing and screening candidates, monitoring applicant pool, and conducting regular follow-ups with manager.
- Effectively respond to and resolve HR related questions regarding employment, classification & compensation, performance coaching, and training.
- Assist with classification and compensation projects and audits.
- Support the design and implementation of organizational development programs.
- Provide on-site HR support to campuses as needed.
- Application and interpretation of policies and procedures.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree and three years of experience as a human resources generalist. An equivalent combination of education, training, certification and/or experience that provides the required knowledge and expertise to perform the essential functions of the job may be substituted.
- Thorough knowledge of the principles and practices in the areas of classification & compensation, talent acquisition and employment and organizational development.
- Knowledge of federal, state and local laws applicable to Human Resources Management (HRM)
- Ability to handle confidential information; interpret and explain principles, procedures, policies, and regulations; remain current in trends, topics, and issues in area of specialization; arrive at sound decisions through analysis and evaluation; and, plan, organize, and set priorities on assigned work.
- Eligible applicants must currently be authorized to work in the United States and not require employer visa sponsorship
Preferred Qualification:
- Experience with Workday.
Hiring Range $67,639 to $87,942 annually. Initial salary placement is based on candidate experience and internal equity.
