Science Teachers
Seeking science teacher candidates to provide instruction so that all students achieve full science-technology-engineering-math (STEM) literacy through seamlessly integrated instruction that is project-problem- and standards-based. The Montgomery County Public Schools Science curriculum is available at: www.montgomeryschoolsmd.org/curriculum/science.

SUMMARY DESCRIPTION:
Under direction of the school principal, plans and provides for appropriate learning experiences for students. Provides an atmosphere and environment conducive to the intellectual, physical, social and emotional development of individuals to ensure success for every student. Develops, selects, and differentiates instructional plans and materials to meet the needs of all students. Maintains appropriate records, follows required procedures and practices, and uses data analysis to monitor student achievement.
CERTIFICATE LICENSE:
Meets Maryland State Department of Education certification requirements in appropriate field of education.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES:
Knowledge of the MCPS curriculum, content expertise, techniques for integrating curriculum, MCPS policies, and effective instructional practices. Ability to use a variety of instructional and behavioral management strategies and techniques integrating reading, writing, math, and technology throughout the content areas. Commitment to the belief that all students can learn characterized by high content and high expectations for all learners. Ability to work effectively with administrators, colleagues, central office and school based staff, students, parents and community demonstrating organizational agility. Excellent oral and written communication and human relations skills.
EDUCATION, TRAINING, and EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor's degree in applicable field of education from an accredited college or university. Certification in a content area is desirable.
