Assistant Band Performance Instructor


QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Kentucky Certificate, Emergency Certificate or Certificate for Substitute

Teaching preferred; or

2. Classified employee exempt from overtime requirements; or

3. Meets the requirements for paraprofessional personnel.

4. Experience in the activity assigned and/or participation in high school

and/or college Color Guard.

5. Such additional qualifications as the Superintendent or Board may find

appropriate and acceptable.


REPORTS: Director of Music Program and Principal


SUPERVISES: Not Applicable


JOB GOAL: To work closely with the Band Director to help recruit, teach and supervise a Color Guard for the MCHS marching band program.


PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Attends and assists with all marching band rehearsals, performances and competitions.
  • Instructs all student participants in the proper fundamentals of performance.
  • Supervises participants immediately before, during and after practice and competitions as well as during required travel.
  • Maintains professional conduct and serves as a role model when representing the district during school functions.
  • Performs such other tasks and assumes such other responsibilities as may be assigned by the Director of Music Program, Principal or the Superintendent.
