Job Summary
The Flooring Estimator at each location, under the supervision of the Flooring Sales Manager, is responsible for interfacing with customers to acquire accurate measurements of space(s) and create renderings of area slated for flooring and tile installations. The Flooring Estimator will also interface with the installers and communicate with the Salesperson about any problems that may arise during installation. The ability to prioritize critical issues and ensure all deadlines are met is necessary. This position requires a self-starter that can work independently with meticulous attention to detail.

Qualifications

1. Experience in bid preparation, sales or related industry experience
2. Preference given to past Flooring Sales or Installation experience
3. Knowledge of Floor Covering products (ceramic, stone, carpet, resilient and wood, etc.)
4. Ability to read and work with blueprints
5. Must pass a background check and have a current driver’s license
6.  Knowledge of basic Microsoft programs such as Excel and Word.
7. Proficient skills in basic math to include addition, subtraction and multiplication.

Duties and Essential Job Functions

1. Responsible for material take offs and communication with installers & customers when problems arise during the installation process
2. Taking accurate measurements and creating accurate diagrams
3. Communication with the sales team
4. Follow up after project completion
5. Coordination of installation efforts with outside contractors
6. Able to read and understand construction drawings. 
7. Able to create work orders, installer paperwork, and seaming diagrams.
8. Organize flooring merchandise in the warehouse so that deliveries and pickups are prepared and ready to load out.
9. Receive merchandise from suppliers following bar coding and other reporting procedures. This includes unloading shipments of product, accurately identifying the product, printing receiving labels, physically
