What are the responsibilities and job description for the Associate Buyer position at Moog Inc.?
Moog Space and Defense Group is the premier motion and flow control solutions provider for the following markets: satellites, human-rated space vehicles, launch vehicles, missiles, military ground vehicles, naval vessels, and security and surveillance. Emerging areas of focus include metal additive manufacturing, blockchain for supply chain, sensor integration, and propulsion test facilities.
Moog is looking for an Associate Buyer to work at the Gilbert facility,
located at 2228 W Guadalupe Road, Gilbert, AZ 85233.
- This will be a full-time position,40 hours per week
Job Responsibilities
- Process requisitions, which include sourcing, cost and price analysis, and purchase order generation
- Perform new supplier evaluation, existing supplier management and resolving sourcing issues
- Manage open orders to maintain the needed delivery of goods and services
- Provide pricing information that will be used to support cost proposals being made to our customers
- Work with the design, manufacturing, material and process engineers to match supplier capabilities and design requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or Associate degree with 5 years of experience in purchasing or related experience. Or equivalent level of education and experience.
- Basic understanding of procurement practices
- Advanced computer skills in Excel
- Strong multi-tasking prioritization and time management abilities.
- Excellent communication skills to work with engineers on multiple assignments
- This position requires access to US export-controlled information
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business
- Supply Chain Management degree is a plus as well as previous internships in the purchasing field
