What are the responsibilities and job description for the Employee Engagement Specialist position at Moog Inc?
Moog's Corporate Group is looking for an Employee Relations Specialist to support Western US sites. This position will be located in Arvada, CO and travels at least quarterly to support sites in Gilbert, AZ and Mountain View, CA. While this position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule, 3-4 days/week are expected onsite, after 3-6 months of full-time onsite onboarding.
What you can expect day-to-day:
- Serve as the face of HR and the primary Employee Relations expert for front-line leaders and employees.
- Work with employees and managers to determine employee effectiveness and satisfaction.
- Administers US Employment policies and provides policy education, guidance and interpretation that ensures compliance in a manner consistent with the Moog culture and in support of Moog's union-free status.
- Serves as trusted advisor to coach and guide managers with employees discussions, performance management and effective documentation.
- Conducts investigations of internal complaints or issues that may be a breach of policy or federal/state laws.
- Objectively works to resolve situations to maximize the balance between business objectives and business risk.
- Coordinates and executes activities for developing line manager capability.
- Coordinates and delivers HR programs and communication by working with HR Centers of Excellence (COE's) and HR Business Partners to understand business needs, determine best vehicle for delivery, and coordinating implementation.
- Assists with the facilitation of labor law compliance and audits including Affirmative Action plans, EEOC, etc.
- Maintains confidentiality of sensitive employee information.
- Keeps abreast of changes in state and federal labor laws affecting assigned locations.
Qualifications:
- Typically, a Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related field
- 3-5 years of progressive experience in Employee Relations, preferably in a non-union, manufacturing environment with experience in performance management, discipline, policy interpretation and manager coaching
- Understanding of Employment Law and the ability to recognize legal risks
Preferred Qualifications:
- PHR certification
- Strong Interpersonal skills to establish trustworthy, effective relationships with managers and employees
- Strong organizational and prioritization skills
- Proficient with communication and documentation at both the detailed and summary level
- Adept with MS Office Suite
Salary negotiations start at $92,000 with higher offers dependent on level of experience.
This position requires access to United States Export Controlled information.
