Experienced Medical Billing Specialist

Prerequisites:

• Minimum of a high school diploma, but an associate degree in a relevant field preferred.
• Exceptional ability to work with billing software and electronic medical records.
• Strong knowledge of insurance policies and medical terminologies.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work well in a team environment
• Proof of COVID vaccination
• Superb communication and interpersonal skills.
• Accreditation from a school of medical billing or coding preferred.
• Able to comply with data privacy and security procedures.

Tasks:

• Entering data into online databases accurately and effectively.
• Managing and recording all charge entries.
• Processing claims and following up on unpaid claims.
• Initiating collections on past-due accounts.
• Ensuring that all health insurance requirements are met before patients' arrival.
• Checking patient insurance coverage eligibility.
• Handling patient billing complaints and questions.
• Working with physicians and other medical professionals to clarify diagnoses and to obtain correct codes.
• Processing payments from insurance companies.
• Developing a recovery system and initiating collection efforts.
