Position Summary
The Audit & Compliance Clerk is responsible for ensuring timely and accurate completion of client-driven audits throughout the year, for performing and maintaining documentation of periodic control reporting, internal auditing, and for reviewing and submitting account-level special handling issues including but not limited to complaints, disputes, and fraud claims.The Audit & Compliance Clerk must have the ability to work independently on projects, to work well under pressure, and to handle a wide variety of duties. The ideal individual will have strong written and verbal communication, organizational skills, and the ability to balance multiple priorities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:- Attend and participate in weekly meetings with the Audit & Compliance team to discuss current or potential compliance issues
- Provide client audit deliverables as instructed by the Audit & Compliance Supervisor and Lead
- Perform periodic controls and internal auditing as assigned in the Audit & Compliance Task List
- Maintain the Accountability Log to ensure all identified issues are being addressed timely
- Identify, document, and submit complaints, disputes, and other special handling items to clients according to their work standards
- Work with other departments to find root cause for identified issues and work in a collaborative manner to remediate those issues
- Complete periodic and ad hoc training and retraining in order to continuously build and maintain knowledge of client requirements, incorporate changes in processes, and adapt to changing expectations
- Demonstrate the ability to interact and cooperate with all company employees and clients

- Perform other related duties as required and assigned
- Build a working knowledge of multiple clients’ work standards and requirements
- Build a working knowledge of the litigation process for the states in which the firm practices
- Build a working knowledge of the letters and pleadings used by the firm in its litigation processes
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
- Experience with Microsoft Office, including but not limited to Outlook, Excel, and Word
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills
- Strong time management skills with proven ability to meet deadlines
- Analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality
- Able to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment
