GENERAL SUMMARY:
The Director of Information Systems, Moose International, Inc., is responsible for the overall strategy, development, implementation, maintenance, evaluation and direction of information systems of Moose
International and its subsidiaries and related organizations.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
▪ In cooperation with the Chief Executive Officer, develops a new technological
culture for Moose International and its subsidiaries and related organizations, and determines the most efficient, effective and economical means to provide service and information through technological advancement
▪ Working with the Chief Executive Officer, creates the Information Technology and Communication Standards and Practices plan to ensure the development and implementation of technology initiatives that support business processes; maintains system-wide security and integrity; directs plan implementation; periodically evaluates plan, develops alternatives and recommends changes as needed
▪ Provides supervisor with routine status reports and advises supervisor of significant ▪ problems that jeopardize the achievement of organizational and program objectives and those not being addressed adequately by line management Maintains in-house hosted computer environment
▪ Manages the day-to-day operations of the information systems function including the overall direction of the organization’s computer center; oversees all phases of systems design, programming, installation, and operations; develops and oversees the execution of policies and procedures by department staff
▪ Actively participates in collaborating on organizational initiatives, programs, and tactics
▪ Oversees development, implementation, evaluation, administration, and communication of functional policies and procedures for Moose International, Inc. and its subsidiaries and related organizations
▪ Meets with decision makers in other departments to identify, recommend, develop, implement, and support cost-effective technology solutions
▪ Oversees the sourcing, evaluation and review of vendor support, approving selection and purchase of IT hardware and software, and overseeing the installation of approved technology enhancements
▪ Negotiates requirements, costs, scheduling, quality and delivery of vendor supplies and services; approves agreements, contracts and major expenditures
▪ Maintains awareness of applicable laws and regulations
▪ Stays abreast of current information technology techniques and practices
▪ Performs other duties as assigned
DEPARTMENT GOALS:

SUPERVISORY REQUIREMENTS:
▪ Job directly manages the Manager of Network Operations and Manager of Application Development
▪ Is responsible for hiring, performance feedback and formal evaluation, pay level recommendations, and disciplinary action; develops, coaches, and guides direct reports; evaluates department’s organizational structure including roles, authorities and accountabilities, and determines individual performance expectations for direct reports.
BUDGETARY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
▪ Participates in establishment of department budget, manages approved functional budget and is accountable for results.
INTERNAL INTERACTION:
▪ Numerous interactions per week with Chief Executive Officer and department directors regarding planning, resolution of tactical issues, and status updates.
▪ Daily contact with employees outside of the department to troubleshoot issues and provide information.
EXTERNAL INTERACTIONS
▪ Annual contact with board members focusing on planning and project status issues.
▪ Regular vendor contacts regarding deliverables, operational issues, and project requirements and contact with field staff/members to provide information and resolve issues.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
▪ 10 years director level or equivalent experience
▪ Mid-level experience in managing, evaluating and budgeting information services function in an organization that has multiple and dispersed sites
▪ In-depth knowledge of the application of technology in the solution of complex business problems and software development concepts/techniques
▪ Technical familiarity with most, if not all, disciplines of information technology (systems analysis and design; systems architecture, transmission media, network topologies, and protocols; systems hardware), the
System Development Life Cycle, and the application of technology in the solution of complex business problems
▪ Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
▪ Direct supervisory experience, including feedback, coaching, and developing staff
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
▪ Excellent written and oral skills to communicate effectively with all levels of organizational and vendor leadership and employees
▪ Ability to effectively negotiate with vendors and comprehend contract nuances
▪ Ability to comprehend complex ideas, develop solutions to problems, and to analyze
quantitative data
▪ Ability to cooperate within a team
▪ Ability to work under stress and successfully handle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously
▪ Ability to deal with ambiguity and changing organizational needs and priorities
WORKING CONDITIONS:
▪ Normal office environment including movement from desk to other work areas in a multi-floor suite and multi-building campus to carry out job duties
▪ Work may be stressful in periods of high volume and/or tight deadlines
▪ Travel, as needed, by automobile and air

Pay: $160,000.00 - $170,000.00 per year
