Job Posting for Engineering COOP at Morton/Windsor

Engineering COOP will work closely with engineering, production, and maintenance focused on regular sampling, monitoring, testing, mapping and equipment reliability for an underground mine with surface operations. This role requires regular visits to the mine, mill and surrounding surface areas to monitor mine and environmental conditions such as ground movement, ventilation, subsidence, equipment reliability and building maintenance. Individual required to successfully measure, ensure data integrity, analyze, process data and communicate results. Attention to detail is required to identify and communicate any potential concerns related to movement or other anomalies.


Must be able to work independently and in group setting.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Time studies
  • Waste elimination
  • Root cause analysis
  • Defect elimination
  • EHS audits
  • Backlog audits
  • Management of change
  • Sketching as required
  • Maintenance Data Collection and Analysis

Other Tasks as Assigned

 

  • Must be enrolled in an engineering college curriculum, Civil Engineering or Mechanical Engineering preferred
  • AutoCAD experience is preferred
  • Ability to work in an underground environment necessary

Must be able to lift 50 pounds

Field work will include underground and surface industrial environment where potential dust, high temperatures, and other industrial and mine related hazards may be encountered.  High work will be required for many tasks assigned.
