Job Summary
The selected candidate will assist in lab settings during the Center for STEM eXcellence summer programs. The Assistant will need advanced knowledge of STEM X education and will perform tasks that are unique, unusual, technical or that require an advanced skill set.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Duties and responsibilities may involve performing analytical tasks and/or developing comprehensive reports. The advanced student assistant will aid the STEM X Program Educator with daily classes and activities. This position may oversee program participants at times. This position will require a high level of contact with internal and external customers. A substantial level of teamwork is expected. Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Other Duties and Responsibilities
May support all Center for STEM eXcellence Staff at programs.
Minimum Requirements
- Must be a current MSU student
- Must maintain satisfactory academic progress
- Must have or be able to successfully complete a significant amount training/certification
- Must have a high level of technology skills
- Must have a high level of knowledge of the operations and policies of the unit or department
- Must possess independent judgment, discretion and decision-making skills
- Must have a proven track record of meeting deadlines and working under pressure
- Must be able to handle stress as well as to react quickly in emergency situations

STEM X major of study
Physical Requirements
Must be able to stand for long periods of time, lift 25 pounds
Working Conditions
Camp setting for 12-18 year old participants.
